Inclusion Support Agencies are responsible for managing and coordinating access to quality
inclusion support.
Inclusion Support Agencies (ISA) are responsible for managing and coordinating access to quality inclusion support that is relevant, appropriate and timely for all eligible child care services within a defined service delivery area.
Inclusion Support Agencies employ Inclusion Support Facilitators (ISFs) who work directly with staff in child care services. ISFs provide practical advice and facilitate access to a range of supports designed to strengthen the service's ability to create an environment inclusive of all children.
These supports include, but are not be limited to, access to specialist equipment and resources, developing service support plans and applying for funding to employ additional workers or specialist cultural expertise.
ISFs provide inclusion support to Commonwealth funded children's
services including:
- Family Day Care;
- Out of School Hours Care (including vacation care);
- Long Day Care;
- Occasional Care;
- In-home care services.
Children with additional needs include:
- Children with a disability, including children with high support needs;
- Children from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds;
- Children with a refugee or humanitarian intervention background who have been subjected to torture and trauma, either in their country of origin or during their refugee experience;
- Indigenous children.
