Online Training and Learning Packages

Children’s Services Central provides access to online training for Rural and Remote services. This training is hosted by One World for Children – www.owfc.com.au.

Children's Services Central online training system is available to participants that have booked in to an online training course, and received their login code and password.

At times it is challenging for staff in education and care services to attend training courses. To respond to this, Children’s Services Central has developed a range of online training packages which can be undertaken by by participants during their own time and pace. Each module will take about one hour to complete. Some courses are FREE and/or a small charge will be applicable. Participants need to “book in” for free and paid courses as an invoice is generated with each booking (i.e. for courses that are free, the invoice will read, “paid”). Participants receive a Certificate of Participation.

Unpacking the EYLF – $11

This module is designed to provide an overview of the Early Years Learning Framework. It explores the three basic concepts of the Framework, Belonging, Being and Becoming and examines the three inter-related elements of Principles, Practices and Learning Outcomes. The module provides case studies of how the EYLF has been implemented in different service types.

Nutrition – $11

This newly updated module is designed to provide learners with an overview of the nutritional requirements of children of various ages. It explores the many facets of providing nutritional menus for children including special diets, food preferences and food preparation. It also provides useful information around current legislation and regulations and ways to access appropriate information and support agencies.

Keep Them Safe - $11

This module is designed to provide learners with an overview of the changes around the NSW Government’s Keep Them Safe (KTS) Action Plan. The module covers the principle/goals of KTS, the KTS strategy, new threshold of risk of significant harm, and the Mandatory Reporter Guide (MRG). The module provides useful links covering Child Wellbeing Units, Family Referral Services and the Exchange of Information.

Legal Responsibilities for Managers/Committee Members – FREE

This module is designed to provide learners with an overview of the responsibilities of licensees and managers of all types of education and care services. The session covers the roles and responsibilities of management, strategies to demonstrate compliance and ways to access helpful information and resources. The training is appropriate for newly appointed licensees managers, committee members and those interested in furthering their knowledge in this area.
